The Poker Career of Vietnamese David Pham

The poker industry is having an increasing number of professional poker players from Vietnam. And one of these Vietnamese poker players is David Pham. Ever since his emergence in the industry, he has been showing his admirable poker capabilities to fellow professional poker players and all other poker enthusiasts. Perhaps, he is one of the reasons why young people from his country are being inspired to become professional poker players.

Born in South Vietnam on February 10, 1967, David Pham relocated from Vietnam to the United States by boat when he was seventeen years old along with more than one hundred other Vietnamese.

Professional poker player Men Nguyen is the cousin of David Pham. When Nguyen first experienced success in the poker industry, he established a cleaning business where David Pham had the opportunity to work. Aside from such opportunity, David Pham also had the opportunity to play poker. Nguyen gladly tutored him until he was prepared to join the tournament circuit.

In 2000, David Pham enhanced his skills by participating in numerous live poker events wherein he experienced numerous money finishes as well. This professional poker player finished in the money in such tournaments as the Carnival of Poker, the Los Angeles Poker Classic, the Sport of Kings Tournament, the Jack Binion World Poker Open, the Shooting Star tournament, the California State Poker Classic, the 31st Annual World Series of Poker, the Orleans Open, the Legends of Poker, and the U.S. Poker Championship. He also won first prize in some of the poker tournaments he participated in, including the Winnin' O the Green Tournament and the American Poker Classic.

In 2001, David Pham was also active in participating in numerous live poker tournaments. But what made 2001 more successful than the previous year was the fact that this professional poker player earned his first World Series of Poker bracelet after ending up as the first placer in a Limit S. H. O. E. event. Such event took place on April 28 and it earned him US$140,455.

David Pham's ability to join in more than five live poker tournaments in a year is probably the reason why he just keeps getting better and better in playing poker. That is why when this professional poker player joined the 37th Annual World Series of Poker, he was skillful enough to win his second World Series of Poker bracelet. He joined a No Limit Hold'em game on July 16, which allowed him to earn US$240,222.

David Pham may have not yet won any World Poker Tour title. Nevertheless, he has already had five final tables.

This professional poker player has also been nicknamed "The Dragon" due to his playing style. Most of the poker players who have seen him play says that it is as if he breathes fire as soon as he positions himself at the poker table. Well, if it is making him succeed, there is no reason for him to stop breathing fire.
